Rachel Valentyne is a Celebrant based in Tasmania, Australia. During the covid lockdowns she got to work forming The Rebel Union, a brand that you could say breaks the mold of traditional weddings. Non-conforming and a bit rebellious, The Rebel Union specializes in elopements and weddings, as well as the occasional funeral. Bringing people together in times of love and loss, The Rebel Union believe anyone with a loving heart has the right to say “I do” to their chosen one and that everyone deserves a party.

Rachel came to us with a website built on GoDaddys website builder, limited functionality, poor UX and which was not showing up online. No organic reach, no traffic, no clicks.

With her clients coming purely through referrals, and with the raving reviews coming in, it was clearly the time to start thinking about getting clients direct. The Rebel Union started our 30 day SEO audit and fix, which primarily looks at why a site isn’t showing up online and fixing any errors and optimizing site content and techincal SEO. Our objective was to find out why the site wasn’t ranking well and change that to get the site ranking.

Solution

GoDaddy was really holding Rachel and her business growth back, so we made the early decision to build a new site with our hosting and on WordPress.

Our hosting is designed specifically to run blazingly fast WordPress websites, so we set the Rebel Union up on our basic plan which is perfect for small sites.

We built a custom WordPress theme based of the DIVI framework which is super easy for Rachel to manage herself.

Rebuilding the site from scratch allowed us to tackle all techincal SEO issues in one go, building in best practices to site framework and content. By improving content, adding relevant keywords, seperating services into individual offers we significantly improved the content quality.

We worked with Rachel to streamline her services and offerings, optimizing lead generation opportunities and improving user exeperience. We introduced an easy to manage blog so Rachel can continue to create content in the future that will further help her organic growth.
